I used different techniques to convert this model: Direct convert to a Face and final thicken. The mesh is from a Shinkansen quite complex with a lot of triangles. Usually I create the remix elements using the usual solid-body tools, but then convert those solid bodies to mesh using Tessellate in the mesh tool set. Hello guys, im trying to convert an obj or stl mesh into a solid body. The Fusion 360 mesh tools I find most helpful for remixes are Create Mesh Section Sketch (this helps with some precision), Fit Curves to Mesh Section, Plane Cut, Mesh Combine, & Separate. You lose some ability to do precision work, but you lose some precision when you do the mesh to solid conversion anyway. I can do most things right in the Fusion 360 mesh tools now. Most of the time I want to do a remix of a mesh design, I don't even bother converting it to a BREP or a solid body. Usually I create the remix elements using the usual solid-body tools, but then convert those solid bodies to mesh using Tessellate in the mesh tool set. If you can convert to multiple of the supported files, that'd be great!ĭesignSpark Mechanical.
